Terms of Service
Last updated: 2026-05-25
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the products and services provided by PARWANAS ("we", "us", "our"), including the LifeLines mobile application for iOS and Android and any associated backend services (collectively, the "Service"). By creating an account, by activating cloud sync, or by purchasing a subscription, you accept these Terms.
1. Eligibility
You must be at least 15 years old in France, per Article 7-1 of the Loi Informatique et Libertés (loi n° 78-17 as amended by loi n° 2018-493 of 20 June 2018), to consent on your own behalf to the processing of personal data required by the Service. The minimum age varies between 13 and 16 in other EU jurisdictions per Article 8 of the GDPR; below the applicable threshold, a parent or legal guardian must consent. You must also be able to enter into a binding contract under the general civil law applicable to you.
2. Your account
- You are responsible for keeping your account credentials secure.
- You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.
- You may delete your account at any time from Profile → Settings → Delete Account.
3. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use the Service for an illegal purpose or in a way that violates these Terms.
- Reverse-engineer, decompile, scrape, or attempt to extract source code, except to the extent that applicable law expressly permits despite this restriction.
- Interfere with the operation of the Service or with other users' use of it.
- Upload content that infringes the rights of others or that is unlawful.
- Attempt to access accounts, data, or systems that are not yours.
4. Subscriptions
4.1 Pricing and billing
The Service offers a free tier and an optional paid subscription. Current prices, billing cycles, and the features included with each tier are displayed in the application before any purchase. Subscriptions are billed by the platform store (Apple App Store or Google Play) using the payment method on file with that store. Subscriptions renew automatically for the same period at the then-current price, unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the renewal date as required by the store's standard rules.
4.2 Free trial
Where a free trial is offered, the trial converts to a paid subscription at the end of the trial period unless you cancel before then. The exact trial duration, conversion price and cancellation deadline are disclosed in the purchase screen before you confirm.
4.3 Cancellation
You may cancel an active subscription at any time:
- directly inside the application at Profile → Manage Subscription → Cancel; or
- iOS: Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions → LifeLines → Cancel Subscription; or
- Android: Play Store → Profile → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions → LifeLines → Cancel.
Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current paid period; no further charges will be made after that date. In compliance with French Ordonnance n° 2026-2 of 5 January 2026 amending Article L221-21 of the Code de la consommation, French consumers can exercise the cancellation right entirely online, free of charge, from the in-app entry point above.
4.4 Refunds — EU right of withdrawal
Consumers in the European Union have a 14-day right of withdrawal for distance contracts under Article 9 of EU Directive 2011/83/EU (Consumer Rights Directive). However, by purchasing a digital subscription and choosing to begin using premium features immediately, you expressly request that performance start before the end of the withdrawal period and acknowledge that you thereby lose the withdrawal right for the supplied digital content, under Article 16(m) of the Consumer Rights Directive, transposed into French law at Article L221-28, 13° of the Code de la consommation. The store purchase flow operated by Apple or Google obtains this acknowledgement on our behalf.
Outside this rule, Apple (iOS) and Google (Android) operate the refund process for in-app purchases at their own discretion:
- iOS: reportaproblem.apple.com
- Android: Google Play refund support
If a platform refund is declined and you consider the refusal unjustified, contact support@parwanas.com with the receipt; we will review the case.
4.5 Conformity of digital content (EU Directive 2019/770)
Under the EU Digital Content Directive (Directive (EU) 2019/770, transposed in France at Articles L224-25-1 to L224-25-30 of the Code de la consommation), you have a right to a remedy if the Service fails to conform to its description. We will supply updates, including security updates, necessary to keep the Service in conformity for as long as a reasonable consumer would expect given the type and purpose of the Service. Where conformity cannot be restored within a reasonable time, the statutory remedies (price reduction or contract termination) apply.
5. Content ownership and licence to us
You own all content you create in the Service (timelines, journal entries, workouts, body measurements, photos and tags). We do not claim ownership of your content.
You grant us a limited, non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide licence to host, store, transmit, copy, display and back up your content solely to operate the Service for you (for example: to sync your content across your devices, to render it in the application, to perform technical backups, and to export it on your request). This licence terminates when you delete the content or your account.
6. Licence to use the Service
We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to install and use the Service for personal, non-commercial purposes, in accordance with these Terms and the store's standard end-user licence terms. This licence terminates when you delete your account or when these Terms are otherwise terminated.
7. Service availability and changes
We aim for high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. We may perform maintenance and may modify, suspend or discontinue features of the Service. Where a change materially reduces functionality you have paid for, you may terminate the subscription with a pro-rata refund for the unused paid period, in accordance with applicable consumer law.
8. Termination
You may terminate these Terms at any time by deleting your account. We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service if you materially breach these Terms, including by violating §3 (Acceptable use), subject to giving you reasonable prior notice where the law requires it and the urgency of the breach allows it.
9. Warranties and disclaimers
The Service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis, except where applicable consumer-protection law imposes mandatory warranties that cannot be excluded. In particular, our obligations under the EU Digital Content Directive (see §4.5) and our liability for hidden defects under French consumer law remain unaffected.
10. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, our aggregate liability arising out of or in connection with these Terms or the Service is limited to the amount you paid us under your subscription in the 12 months immediately preceding the event giving rise to the liability. Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes liability for fraud, gross negligence, wilful misconduct, personal injury, or any other liability that cannot be limited or excluded under the law applicable to you as a consumer.
11. Governing law and jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by the laws of France, without prejudice to the mandatory consumer-protection rules of your country of residence. Disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of PARIS, France, save that, where you are a consumer, you may also bring proceedings in the courts of the EU Member State in which you reside, and we may only sue you in the courts of your country of residence, in each case in accordance with Article 18 of Regulation (EU) 1215/2012.
12. Alternative dispute resolution (ADR)
Before initiating any judicial proceedings, we encourage you to write to support@parwanas.com so we can attempt to resolve the matter amicably. French consumers may additionally refer the dispute, free of charge, to an approved médiateur de la consommation. The list of approved mediators is maintained by the French Commission d'évaluation et de contrôle de la médiation de la consommation (CECMC) at economie.gouv.fr/mediation-conso.
The European Commission's central Online Dispute Resolution platform was permanently discontinued on 20 July 2025 under Regulation (EU) 2024/3228; consumers in other EU Member States should contact a national ADR body listed by their national consumer-protection authority.
13. Personal data
Our processing of personal data in connection with the Service is described in our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these Terms by reference.
14. Apple-specific terms
Where the Service is downloaded from the Apple App Store, you acknowledge that these Terms are entered into between you and PARWANAS only, and not with Apple Inc. Apple is not responsible for the Service or its content. To the extent these Terms grant rights or remedies that conflict with the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions, the Apple terms prevail with respect to the App Store distribution channel.
15. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms. Where the change is material, we will post the revised text here with an updated "Last updated" date and will additionally notify you in-app at least 14 days before the change takes effect. Continued use of the Service after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms; if you do not accept them, you may terminate by deleting your account.
