LifeLines
A personal-history mobile application for iOS and Android, published by PARWANAS.
What LifeLines is
LifeLines is a single-user mobile application that helps people record and visualise their own personal history along configurable timelines. It is designed for individuals; there is no social feed, no public profile, and no content sharing between users. All content belongs to the user who creates it.
The application is rule-based: it does not use generative AI or external language models on user content, and it does not train any model on personal data.
Core features
- Timelines. Create one or more named timelines (for example: career, relationships, travel, health) and place events on them with a date, title, optional description, optional photo, and optional tags.
- Journal. Dated journal entries attached to a timeline or kept standalone. Entries support plain text and attached photos.
- Workouts. Record workout sessions manually — date, type, duration, notes and optional structured fields (sets, reps, weights). Imports from Apple Health or Google Fit are not enabled by default and require an explicit per-type permission grant.
- Body measurements. Log measurements such as weight, height and circumferences over time, with a chart view. Values are entered by the user; no measurement is inferred or estimated.
- Photos. Attach photos to events, journal entries or workouts. Photos are picked from the device photo library at the moment of attachment, and only the selected images are read by the application.
- Export. Export all of your content at any time as a downloadable archive — JSON for structured data, original file formats for photos.
- Account deletion. Delete your account and erase your server-side content directly from the app, at any time, in one action.
Storage and privacy
- On-device first. Content is created, stored and encrypted locally on your device. The application works without an account for purely local use.
- Optional cloud sync. When you sign in and enable cloud sync, an encrypted copy of your content is kept on our backend infrastructure, which is operated in France (EU). Sync can be turned off at any time.
- No advertising, no sale of data, no cross-app tracking. LifeLines does not display ads, does not sell personal information, and does not request the App Tracking Transparency permission.
- Anonymous product analytics, opt-out. Aggregated, non-identifying usage signals (screen views, feature counts) help us prioritise improvements. The application provides an in-app opt-out. Journal text, exercise names, weights, body measurements and photo content are never sent to analytics.
- Children. LifeLines is not directed at children below the digital-consent age applicable in their jurisdiction (15 in France; 13–16 elsewhere in the EU per Article 8 GDPR).
Device permissions LifeLines requests
The application requests the following operating-system permissions only on first use of the corresponding feature, and only for the purposes described:
- Photo library (read, selected items). Used when you choose to attach a photo to an event, journal entry or workout. LifeLines reads only the photos you explicitly pick.
- Camera. Used only when you choose "Take a photo" from inside the application.
- Push notifications. Optional. Used for reminders that you configure yourself (for example: a weekly journal reminder). Off by default.
- Apple Health / Google Fit. Off by default. If enabled, LifeLines requests read access to specific data types you select (for example: workout sessions, body weight). No data is written back unless you explicitly enable that.
Pricing
LifeLines offers a free tier for basic personal use, and an optional paid subscription that unlocks additional features. Current pricing and trial conditions are displayed in-app before any purchase.
Subscriptions are billed by the platform store (Apple App Store or Google Play). Cancellation is available at any time, directly inside the application and via the platform store's subscription settings. The full subscription, cancellation and refund terms — including the 14-day EU right of withdrawal and its statutory exceptions — are set out in our Terms of Service.
